"The flagship industry conference for the event sector in Scotland"
Returning for the first time in over four years, Scotland's National Events Conference is produced for all those working to create, deliver, and support Scotland’s cultural, sporting and business events, and is aligned to Scotland's national events strategy: Scotland the Perfect Stage.
Over the past year the sector has been contributing to the review and update of Scotland’s national events strategy and this conference will consider many of the key themes, challenges, and opportunities highlighted throughout this process, and to be addressed in the updated strategy.
Held at The Assembly Rooms, one of Edinburgh city centre’s largest and most iconic event spaces, and set against a changing and challenging environment for events, this is an important opportunity for Scotland’s events community to connect, learn, discuss, and share their event experiences.
The conference will provide a vital platform to inform delegates on the work being undertaken to review and update the national events strategy – Scotland the Perfect Stage – extending its term to the end of 2035. Also, to consult with industry on implementation of the updated strategy.
From community-based activity to Mega events, content themes will include Scotland’s future events ambition and global status, responsible events, community engagement, Net Zero events, workforce development, measuring impacts, and much more.
The conference format will comprise both keynote and breakout sessions, including internationally recognised expert speakers, panel sessions, and case studies from across the sporting, cultural and business events landscape.
Scotland’s National Events Conference last took place in September 2019 at the world-famous Gleneagles Hotel and alongside the Solheim Cup tournament, the most highly coveted trophy in women’s professional golf team competition. Delegate feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with 97% of respondents stating they would attend a future National Events Conference. There has been unprecedented change across the industry since 2019; Scotland’s National Events Conference 2024 is an important opportunity for the industry re-connect and re-set for the period ahead.
Delegate prices have been reduced from previous years to £80+VAT per person and include arrival snacks and refreshments, lunch, and a post-conference networking reception. Capacity is limited to 250 so book early to avoid disappointment.
